The Buraansh Crafts

At The Buraansh Local, we focus on preserving and celebrating India’s rich, lesser-known crafts, each carrying a deep history and artistry that has been passed down through generations. Our pieces are created through close collaboration with artisans who continue to perfect these ancient techniques.

Our collection showcases Lac, a natural resin revered for its adhesive and finishing qualities, used to create intricate, one-of-a-kind designs. Bidri, with its striking contrast of silver inlaid into dark metal, speaks to the craftsmanship of a centuries-old tradition. Handcarved wooden blocks are shaped using age-old methods, each one an individual work of art. We also feature Naqashi, the delicate craft of metal raising, where artisans skillfully manipulate thin sheets of metal to create textured, detailed patterns. Together with other lesser-known crafts, such as traditional jewelry-making techniques and ceramic arts, each piece we offer carries a unique story.

These crafts represent not just materials, but the intimate bond between craftsmen and tradition. At The Buraansh Local, we strive to make these forms of craftsmanship relevant today, offering products that blend heritage and modern design, while keeping their soul intact and honoring the hands that craft them.
