This tea holder is crafted from retired wooden printing blocks, once used in traditional block-printing. Made of durable sheesham aka Indian Rosewood, each block carries the marks of patterns and stories from its past life in textile printing. Repurposed into a functional tea light holder, it extends the craft’s journey into everyday living.
Sheesham is a strong, long-lasting hardwood that naturally resists decay. With minimal care — a soft wipe with a dry cloth — it will age gracefully, carrying forward the warmth of wood and the memory of craft.
By giving new life to retired blocks, this piece keeps craft heritage alive while making sustainable use of material that would otherwise be discarded.
